Fees

  • $30 entry
  • $1 per player for all transactions (release, sign, trade)

Draft

  • We have 10 teams participating
  • We hold a live draft before the NFL’s regular season starts.  Draft order is determined by drawing names from a hat. 
  • During the first round teams draft players in order (1 – 10).  The second round teams draft in reverse order (10 – 1).  Each odd numbered round teams draft in order, and each even numbered round teams draft in reverse order.

Rosters / lineups

  • A team may have up to 17 players
  • 2 defensive teams must be drafted.  After the draft, teams may have 0, 1, or 2 defensive teams on the roster
  • We play head to head against other teams in the league, and play a new game every week.  The starting lineup consists of
    • 1 quarterback
    • 2 running backs
    • 3 receivers (wide receiver or tight end)
    • 1 flex position (running back or receiver)
    • 1 kicker
    • 1 team defense / special teams

Scoring

  • Passing
    • Touchdown pass: 4 points
    • Every 20 passing yards: 1 point
    • Two point conversion thrown: 2 points
    • Interception thrown: -1 points
  • Rushing
    • Touchdown rush: 6 points
    • Every 10 rushing yards: 1 point
    • Two point rushing conversion: 2 points
  • Receiving
    • Touchdown reception: 6 points
    • Every 10 receiving yards: 1 point
    • Two point rushing conversion: 2 point
  • Kicking
    • Field goal made (50+ yards): 5 points
    • Field goal made (40 – 49 yards): 4 points
    • Field goal made (0 – 39 yards: 3 points
    • Point after made: 1 point
  • Team defense / special teams
    • Touchdown scored: 6 points
    • Points allowed
      • 0 points allowed: 8 points
      • 2 – 6 points allowed: 6points
      • 7 – 13 points allowed: 4 points
      • 14 – 17 points allowed: 2 points
      • 28 – 34 points allowed: -2 points
      • 35 – 45 points allowed: - 4 points
      • 46+ points allowed: - 6 points
    • Yardage allowed
      • Less than 100 yards: 6 points
      • 100 – 199 yards: 4 points
      • 200 – 299 yards: 2 points
      • 350 – 399 yards: -2 points
      • 400 – 449 yards: -4 points
      • 450+ yards: -6 points
    • Each opponent fumble recovery: 2 points
    • Each interception: 2 points
    • Each sack: 2 points
    • Each safety: 2 points
  • Miscellaneous
    • Fumble recovery for a touchdown (offensive players only): 6 points
    • Fumble lost (offensive player or team defense / special teams): -2 points

Playoffs

  • The regular season lasts 13 weeks.  The top 6 teams from the league are eligible to participate in the championship bracket.  The remaining teams participate in the consolation bracket.
  • The playoff participants are determined by the regular season record.  In the case of a tie, this is the order of tie-breakers:
    • Head to head matchups (tied teams records vs each other)
    • Total points scored
  • Week 1 of playoffs (NFL Week 14)
    • Championship bracket
      • 1st and 2nd seeds get a bye
      • 3rd vs 6th
      • 4th vs 5th
    • Consolation bracket
      • 7th vs 10th
      • 8th vs 9th
  • Week 2 of playoffs (NFL Week 15)
    • Championship bracket
      • 1st seed vs lowest of the Playoff Week 1 winners
      • 2nd seed vs highest of the Playoff Week 1 winners
      • The losers from Playoff Week 1 matchup to determine 5th and 6th place
    • Consolation bracket
      • Two winners face each other to determine 7th and 8th place
      • Two losers face each other to determine 9th and 10th place
  • Championship (NFL Weeks 16 and 17)
    • Two winning teams from Week 2 of the championship bracket matchup to determine 1st and 2nd place
    • Two losers from Week 2 of the championship bracket matchup to determine 3rd and 4th place
    • Lineup must be submitted before NFL Week 16.  The same lineup must be used for NFL Weeks 16 and 17

Even though the 2008 NFL season is still a couple of months away, it is now time to start thinking about the fantasy football draft, rule changes, new teams, etc.  Pre-season starts on Sunday, August 3rd.  The regular season starts on Thursday,September 4th.  Please respond to this post for draft date suggestions, rule changes, etc. 

2007 Season Summary

The league kept the same teams from the 2006 season.  The Urban Achievers (Jon Hunt) defeated the Tenth Avenue Freeze Outs (Scott Robinson) for the championship.  This win gave Jon his third championship in the league, and his second in three years.
